SKILLED E-BUS TRANSITION

The Skilled-eBus-Transition project unfolds against the backdrop of a rapidly evolving European landscape, where the imperatives of environmental sustainability and climate action demand profound transformations in the transport sector. Recognizing that transport contributes significantly to greenhouse gas emissions, the European Union has set ambitious goals through initiatives such as the Green Deal and the Sustainable and Smart Mobility Strategy. With the overarching aim of achieving a 90% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by 2050, the emphasis is on stimulating the demand for zero-emission vehicles, particularly in the realm of local public bus services.

However, the deployment of electric bus (e-bus) fleets, especially in rural and smaller municipalities, has lagged behind. To address this gap, the Skilled-eBus-Transition project emerges as an innovative, transnational initiative that leverages the expertise of its partners, EOLAS and STRIA, to provide targeted vocational education and training (VET).
